I started off this week off with a promise to myself - that I would wake up early every morning to get to the gym before work. Because I have to work late this week, afternoon workouts are not an option! Today started off slow - I had every intention of running and wound up doing and interval workout finishing off with a little bit of elliptical.
Which brings me to my next point...
Does anyone else have an extremely hard time running on the treadmill?! I don't know what it is, because I can run 4+ miles comfortably outdoors without stopping at about a 9:30-10:00/mile pace but as soon as I hit the tread mill I can't run at a 5.5 for more than half a mile!! I think it's definitely mental, but I need to figure out a way to build up my endurance for indoor training asap! Any tips or suggestions?
Here's how my workout went today:
2 min warm-up (4.0mph at 3% incline)
.60 miles at 5.5mph, incline 2%
.65 miles at 4.0mph, incline 3%
.50 miles at 5.5mph, incline 2%
.25 miles at 4.0mph, incline 3%
Total duration: 24 minutes
Total distance: 2 miles
Elliptical: 10 min, level 6
Total calories burned: 320
Not too bad for someone who isn't a regular morning exerciser :D
I leave you with this adorable video to put a smile on your face!
Enjoy your afternoon! Only a few more hours until Monday is over!
